Dr. Timothy Wager earned his Ph.D. in English Literature from UC Santa Barbara. He also received a MA from the University of Virginia and a BA from the University of Chicago, both in English. He has previously taught literature and composition at Drake University and the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Wager comes to AUP after seven years of teaching in the nonprofit sector, developing and delivering curriculum for adult learners. In this capacity, he has taught many and varied topics, focused primarily on reading comprehension and writing, but including test preparation, basic computer use, water conservation, ‘green’ construction, customer service, and healthcare reform.
In his academic life, Dr. Wager published several articles and delivered numerous conference papers on the subjects of 19th and 20th century British and Commonwealth literature. In the nonprofit sector, he has attended and presented at professional development conferences about adult education and labor unions.
